This spectacular mid century modern necklace is made of fabulous multicolor moonglow lucite squares and gold tone metal, etched with an intricate design and beautifully constructed. Though unmarked, this necklace is an extremely rare representation of this style (many made by Coro and Kramer) with the truly remarkable rainbow colors that make up the cabochon squares.
These lucite moonglow necklaces were popular during the 1950s. This one measures 16" long and the squares are .5" wide. The clasp is a sturdy hook that allow for an adjustable length. The necklace is heavier than one would expect, illustrating the quality of the construction.
When I rescued this necklace, I had no idea it would turn out so beautifully: I spent many hours with a toothpick and small brush cleaning and polishing the intricately etched design. Nothing makes me happier than recovering a long-unloved piece of gorgeous vintage jewelry and finding it a new home!
